Welcome to the NHA

There are various associations in South Africa who provide registration for natural healers and counsellors under the umbrella of traditional (natural) health care. This is in line with current legislative strategies in South Africa and policies of the World Health Organization.

The NHA is one of the oldest associations in SA for natural healers who specialize in one of the conventional natural health care modalities, excluding those practitioners such as homeopaths, aromatherapists, reflexologists and naturopaths who are required to register at the Allied Health Council. The focus is that of Traditional Health Care (Ethno-medicine). These healers also make use of modalities such as spiritual healing, subtle energy healing, iridology, medical sociology, nutrition, biofeedback and kinesiology in relation to folk medicine.
